A packing list built for this trip, not a generic one
Most packing lists are the same list every time. Wayfold starts from what’s actually different about this trip: the trip type, the destination, your dates, the weather forecast, the activities you’ve planned, the travelers (adult, child, infant or pet) and the bags you’re taking. The result is grouped into clothes, toiletries, documents, electronics, health, kids and gear, so you can pack one section at a time.
Quantities follow simple rules you’d use yourself. Socks are the number of days plus one, and the count is capped when you’ll have laundry. A long weekend gets a short list; a Lisbon week in July gets sunscreen, a light layer for the evenings and enough tops to rotate.
Everything stays editable. Add, rename, reorder or delete items, change quantities, and tick things off with a tap or a swipe. When you hit 100%, you’ll know.
Your itinerary drives the packing list
This is the idea Wayfold is built around: plan the trip, and the suitcase plans itself. When you add “Day 3: Hiking, Yosemite” to your itinerary, Wayfold suggests hiking boots, a warm layer, sunscreen and a daypack. When you add a surf lesson in the Algarve, it offers the swimwear and towel you’ll need.
Suggestions arrive on a sheet titled “Add these to your list?”. You toggle off anything you don’t want, and items already on your list are skipped. Each added item carries a small badge – “From Day 3: Surf lesson” – so you always know why it’s there. If you later delete that activity, Wayfold asks whether to remove the items it added for it too.

Per traveler, per bag, for the whole family
Planning a family Disney trip? Each traveler gets their own list, switched with a chip at the top, so Emma’s list isn’t buried under Mike’s chargers. Each list splits into personal item, carry-on (hand luggage) and checked bags, and you can move an item between bags with a swipe.
Sixteen built-in templates cover the trips people actually take: beach, city break, road trip, national parks and hiking, camping, ski and snow, cruise, theme parks (Disney and Universal), business, wedding, festival, baby and toddler, traveling with a pet, bachelor/bachelorette and Umrah. Save any list as your own template, and keep a master list of everything you own so items autocomplete as you type.
Need to buy, and packing together
Mark something “need to buy” and it moves to a shopping list. On Pro, invite your group by link and assign items – “who brings what” – so you don’t end up with three hair dryers and no sunscreen. Sharing needs a free sign-in; the rest of the app doesn’t.

Free vs Pro, and what works offline
- Free: unlimited trips and lists you build yourself, all templates, per-traveler and per-bag lists, offline use, and 3 AI generations a month.
- Pro: unlimited AI lists, the outfit planner, carry-on check, sharing and “who brings what”, widgets and PDF export.
- Offline: your lists, ticks and edits work with no signal and sync when you’re back online. Without internet, a new list is built from templates and rules instead of AI, and the app says so: “Smarter suggestions when you’re online.” Weather needs a connection.
Wayfold is coming soon to iPhone and Android. You won’t need an account to start a packing list.
Questions about the packing list
Is the packing list app free?
Yes. The Free plan is $0 and includes unlimited trips and lists you build yourself, all templates, offline use, the leaving-home checklist and 3 AI generations a month. Pro is $4.99/month or $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial, and a Lifetime launch offer is $69.99. In the UK, Pro is £4.49/month or £26.99/year and Lifetime is £64.99. Prices may vary by region – see pricing.
Does the packing list work offline?
Yes. Lists, ticks and edits are stored on your phone and sync when you reconnect. AI suggestions and the weather forecast need internet; without them Wayfold builds your list from templates and rules.
Can I make a separate packing list for each person?
Yes. Add each traveler – adult, child, infant or pet – and each gets their own list, split by personal item, carry-on and checked bag. See our packing list for kids guide for ideas.
Can I reuse a list for my next trip?
Save any list as a personal template, or start from one of the sixteen built-in templates. Your master list of things you own also speeds up adding items.
